1021 Russell Street in East Nashville

a place for food & wine

Bad Idea is a wine bar and restaurant set inside a converted church in East Nashville. Named one of the 50 Best Restaurants in America by the New York Times and a James Beard semifinalist, the kitchen takes an ingredient-driven, technique-forward approach to a seasonal menu designed to move alongside wine. The wine program, recognized with the 2025 Michelin American South Sommelier Award, spans over 150 artisan selections from around the world, poured nightly at 1021 Russell Street.
